To continue our ‘bedroom season,’ here’s a quick tour of my new spare bedroom. Be sure to read to the end where you’ll find, (as promised) some bedroom inspiration from other blush décor lovers too.
This room was an absolute labour of love. We call it the spare room, but really it’s my room, dressing room, if you will. I wanted a modern, fresh look and was taken with the grey, blush and copper themes dominating pinterest at the moment- who isn’t? We painted all the walls pristine white and accessorised from there.
The geometric blush and grey cushions are all H&M Home and trust me, if you’re a cushion addict like me, it will take hold of you badly in there. Lots of switching, changing and returning occurred before settling on this arrangement.
The dressing table mirror was a charity shop purchase (£3!) but it was dark wood originally so I spray painted it in copper so that it fit the scheme.
This blush and copper geometric cushion was from Maisons Du Monde. It softens the white wicker chair, which fits nicely under the floating corner shelves. (These provide me with endless hours of entertainment – titivating and rearranging).
The furniture in here got an Annie Sloane make-over in Paris Grey. We used Rustoleum Chalk Paint in China Rose for the bedside, for a bit of contrast.
I’m obsessed with knick knacks and this room is full of them. I’ll talk you through just a few of my favourites. The copper, star shaped tea light holder on the wall was just £2.50 from Wilko’s and the copper desk lamp was £14.99 from The Range.
The copper ceiling pendant was £12 from Dunelm, the leaning prints on the shelf were mostly homemade (Just print outs of nice texts or google images) and the candlesticks were Hobbycraft.
I love this silver tray, it neatly houses my perfume and other bits and bobs, and just generally keeps my dressing table tidy. I picked it up in Tesco for just £5 (sneakily hidden under the Special K).
I’m obsessed with storage trunks and couldn’t resist this one in TK Maxx for £24.99. I’m constantly moving it around the room and restyling it.
Quite possibly my favourite thing in the whole room though is this DAB retro style radio which was a snip at £24.99 from Aldi. I was determined to get the Roberts vintage radio but just couldn’t justify the £180 price tag!
The room could not be declared complete until I’d thrown a few random objects up on the wall and called it ‘a feature’, much to Graeme’s dismay. Random but pretty!
So that’s how I used blush tones in my décor, but I’m certainly not the only one who’s fallen in love with this seductive shade. Check out these awe-inspiring bedrooms that we just LOVE!
@byidaryding is one of our all time favourite Instagrammers and her styling never disappoints. So serene.
And @mrscarlissa sure knows how to entice us into her beautifully arranged and colour-coordinated spaces. Who knew bold stripes would look so good with this scheme? And those festoon lights! Perfection.
We are seriously lusting after this chunky, knitted throw from @well_isn’t_that_lovely. Beautiful !If you have your heart set on one of these, @blanketsbeautiful makes them by hand and has her own online shop. Go have a look.
And what could be better than a combination of two of our favourite styles – blush AND geometric? So stylishly put together by @elizaroseshop.
And I can’t go without mentioning @rachelj_hearts dressing table mirror. We love its vintage style and it looks lovely against that subtle grey wall.
